The station is often used by students and commuters, especially in the morning. Many users have experienced a lot of inconvenience due to the closure in the last six months. “I missed the train at least half the time because of this,” says someone who regularly travels by train.
Other travelers are also annoyed by the months-long delay. “It’s very annoying, because you always have to walk around,” says one of them, who often has to go to school by train.
Travelers have to take a detour
Last summer, the station stairs were closed because there was a risk of collapse near the wall. The wall has since been supported by wooden beams. For travelers this means they have to take a detour. The stairs offer the shortest route to change platforms and ensure that people passing under the tunnel now have to take a detour to get to the platform.
The station was built in renovated in the fall of 2024. For example, the platform structures and roof were replaced. During that period construction workers and traffic controllers attacked. Local residents of the neighborhood the railway workers gave their support by offering them coffee and cookies.
