From the moment Lady Gaga appears, in a kind of red giant dress with a cage with dancers underneath, it is a madhouse. We lack eyes and ears. There is so much happening on stage that it is almost impossible to keep up. We are at her ‘Mayhem Ball’, as her latest album is also called. With that album, Lady Gaga returned to the electro pop that made her famous, and we can safely say that it is one of the ten best pop albums of 2025. She plays many songs from it in Amsterdam.
A large part of the audience had dressed up. We saw many red-black combinations, the colors of the evening. It set the mood of the evening: dark. “Welcome to Mayhem. Welcome … to the opera house. This is my house,” said the world star. The evening was divided into five acts with titles such as ‘Every chessboard has two Queens’ and ‘Of velvet and Vice’. Partly because of this, it became a sometimes dark and eccentric show, including zombies. She also tries to strangle a skeleton.

Every second of the show was thought out. As a result, only ‘Hello Amsterdam’ could be removed.
The best part was the disco block which included ‘LoveDrug’ and ‘Just dance’. Everyone was dancing on the floor of the hall. Gaga’s approximately twenty dancers excited the audience. It was steaming in the Amsterdam pop hall.
The atmosphere was enhanced by the wristbands that everyone received at the entrance. The lights on the wristbands changed colors time and time again. It’s not new, but it always looks great in the room. Lady Gaga herself also enjoyed the riot of color in the room and called on her supporters every five minutes or so to throw their arms in the air. It was a magical sight every time.

A very beautiful performance of ‘A Million Reasons’ followed, calming the audience and making the audience realize that they were dealing with a professional who was vocally excellent. With apparent ease, every note came out crystal clear.
The American was moving at the end, when she sat with a piano in the middle of the Ziggo Dome. She played songs like ‘Dance in the dark’ and ‘Hair’. It was so intimate that it seemed as if this part had not been rehearsed. It sounded authentic. This is when she connected with her fans. The evening needed this.

However, one evening of Lady Gaga in Amsterdam is not enough. She has so many fans here. It’s a real shame that she doesn’t do more shows in Amsterdam. She could have easily sold them out. No idea why that didn’t work. In any case, it is not her show that is to blame. This was achieved overwhelmingly and with flying colors.
