Geert Versnick, the Golden Boy of the Ghent Open VLD for many years, has passed away. Versnick has had a rich political career, as alderman, Member of Parliament and deputy. He is also the father of Lauren (31) and Morgane (29), his daughters he had with ex-Miss Belgium Lynn Wesenbeek. In September, the flamboyant politician was diagnosed with metastatic cancer. With Versnick, Ghent also loses a striking figure.
