DRACULA – LOST LOVE
Type: fantastic-mystical ✦✦
Direction: Luc Besson. With Caleb Landry Jones, Christoph Waltz, Zoë Bleu, Matilda De Angelis
There is some reason to see yet another sumptuous version of Bram Stoker’s novel. The energetic soundtrack by Danny Elfman, a composer loved by Tim Burton, and Christoph Waltz, the most sought-after Viennese in Hollywood, in the role of the pragmatic exorcist.
However, the author of Nikita’s treatment of delicate issues such as the eternal damnation of love is clumsy. and the romantic fixation of the undead.

Renewing a myth requires finesse and a sense of the presentvirtues that Besson, now devoted to an advertising aesthetic, completely lacks. His vampire, whose point of view he asks us to share, is never tragic, he is kitsch.
