The Hallesche FC has to pay a fine after a storm in September. There is also a probation requirement.
A drastic penalty has apparently been imposed on Hallescher FC by the NOFV sports court. The background is a storming of the pitch by fans on September 12th in the game against BSG Chemie Leipzig, in which players were also attacked. According to a report in “Bild”, Hallesche FC has to pay a fine of 31,150 euros.
Part of it, namely 12,860 euros, can be used for measures that increase security and prevent violence, according to the report. In addition, a suspended block ban has been imposed on the fourth division club. If the offense is committed again, parts of the stands at home games must be closed. The deadline lasts until October 31, 2026.
Shortly after the game, a ban was imposed on Leipzig player Julian Weigel. After the goalless draw at Halleschen FC on September 12th, Weigel physically defended himself when local supporters stormed the pitch and was banned for five games for his behavior. “With this scandalous verdict, the NOFV is sending a fatal signal and is effectively declaring players fair game,” said a press release from the Leipzig team, who wanted to appeal.
There were also incidents in the stands during the goalless game. Leipzig fans rioted and set off pyrotechnics, which were also fired into the home team’s fan block. Three fans were injured, one suffered a serious leg injury. A steward was injured upon entry. According to the “Bild” newspaper, the behavior of the Leipzig fans will be the subject of further proceedings by the sports court in the Northeast German Football Association.
