New Zealand film director Lee Tamahori has died at the age of 75. The New Zealand Broadcasting Company reported on the matter RNZ.

According to the family’s statement, Tamahori died peacefully at home in the presence of his family.

Tamahori also directed the 2002 James Bond film Death can wait. He was seen in the role of Bond in the film Pierce Brosnanplayed by Bond girl Jinx Halle Berry. Death can wait is one of the most financially successful Bond films.

Other films directed by Tamahori include Anthony Hopkins starred On the edge (1997) and Morgan Freeman starred A deadly trick (2001).

Tamahori will be missed by his longtime spouse Justinehis children Sam, Max, Mecha and Tanéthe spouses of their children Casey and Sea and a grandchild Cora Lee. Born in Wellington, Tamahori’s father was Maori, i.e. a native of New Zealand, and his mother was British.
