The Public Prosecution Service has imposed a prison sentence of eleven years and TBS on Friday demanded against a couple from Vlaardingen suspected of seriously assaulting their ten-year-old foster daughter. The Public Prosecution Service considers it proven that Daisy W. and Johnny van den B. deliberately caused the girl “serious injuries” to her head, brain, legs, arms, vertebrae, back and ribs. The girl was allegedly tied up and abused by the foster parents.
The girl would have been kept in a cage. The Public Prosecution Service speaks of “a form of torture”. The sister of the ten-year-old girl also spent some time at the scene and was beaten there, among other things. Two Syrian brothers who previously stayed with the couple were also allegedly abused – one of them had to be kept in a doghouse.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, the violence came “from both the foster father and the foster mother.” “The foster mother also did nothing to stop the abuse and even protected the foster father by denying the violence and claiming that it was made up by the foster children.”
According to the Public Prosecution Service, the case is “unique in its gruesomeness”. “This case calls for retribution for the harm caused to the girl and the other children, but it is not just about retaliation, it is also about preventing future recidivism.”
