The board of the Amsterdam team has announced that it is in discussions to also extend the contract with duo coach Mark van der Laan. The pair will have the opportunity to build a team that will score high in the hall. Van der Laan has been working at Blauw-Wit for some time, Doves succeeded Barry Schep last summer.

“Blauw-Wit shows strength and stability,” says top korfball director Richard van der Weide. “We will appoint a top coach and upgrade our own accommodation.”

Last final in 2017

Blauw-Wit reached the final for the national title for the last time in 2017. They lost 22-18 against TOP Sassenheim.

Doves praises Blauw-Wit’s potential to compete for the championship in the future. Doves: “I think the ambition to play for the title again in the long term is realistic. Amsterdam and the surrounding area has great potential and offers the right conditions, such as housing, study facilities and support from the municipality.”

Blauw-Wit opens the competition tomorrow with the away match against PKC. Next Friday is the first home game against Koog Zaandijk.
