Technical director Alex Kroes: “It is a painful decision. But if you look at how the past few months have gone, we have to conclude that we had imagined things very differently in advance. We see too little development and we have unnecessarily lost points. We know that it can take time if a new trainer starts working with a selection in which changes have also been implemented. We have also given John that time, but we think it is best for the club to put someone else in front of the group. We would like to jointly appoint a new head coach quickly. We thank John and Marcel for their efforts and we wish Fred good luck, starting on Sunday at the away match in Utrecht.”
Departure Alex Kroes
Kroes has made his position available immediately, but the other directors and the Supervisory Board have urged the technical director to stay on for the sake of continuity. Kroes: “My contract expires at the end of the season, if the club appoints a technical director sooner, I will transfer my work at that time.”
