From coffee to kerosene: breakthrough in CO₂ capture with a pump espresso machine

A simple pump from an espresso machine turns out to be the key to a major scientific breakthrough. Researchers from TU Delft have discovered that the pressure pulses from such a pump, which costs less than twenty euros, make the conversion of CO₂ into usable raw materials at least three times faster. The discovery could give the fight against climate change a major boost.
