The star couple got engaged in August when Ronaldo handed Rodriguez a ring worth millions.
However, the soccer star reveals that he had not planned to propose to his lover that night.
Ronaldo’s friends were at his place one night and brought him an engagement ring that the Portuguese was supposed to give Rodriguez “one day”. However, the plan changed when the family’s children Fin and Alana came downstairs in the middle of the night and saw the ring.
The children asked if it was Dad’s wedding ring and if he was going to ask Mom to be his wife.
– I thought, wow. Now is the right time. I knew that this is what I want, Ronaldo recalls.
Ronaldo was so nervous that he didn’t even remember to kneel when proposing, but he described the moment as beautiful nonetheless. Rodriguez answered in the affirmative.
The soccer player had tears in his eyes when he saw his spouse’s reaction to the proposal.
Ronaldo says he plannedthat the wedding would take place after next summer’s soccer World Cup. He threatens to take the championship trophy with him to the party as well.
