In the German ski jumping team, Yann Kullmann fell while landing in the individual. Now the diagnosis is clear.

As the German Ski Association reported when asked by t-online, Kullmann only suffered bruises in the fall. There is no structural injury. The young talent can resume training in the coming days.

Good news for the ski jumper and the association. Ski jumping athletes often suffer serious knee injuries when they fall while landing and are therefore unable to jump for months.

In September, for example, there were serious falls on the Olympic ski jump in Val di Fiemm during the women’s Summer Grand Prix. Three athletes suffered a difficult fate: they suffered torn cruciate ligaments.

A German ski jumping icon also saw the decision as positive: The changes could be “a good step” “to influence the flight curve and landing speed for the athlete in a positive sense, i.e. to reduce it,” said Olympic champion Martin Schmitt in an interview with t-online.
