After Talpa’s intervention – a central presenter was appointed to his Radio 10 morning show – Gordon was bashed in Today Inside. “You’re not going to listen to that fool, are you?”, he says.
It is a big blow for everyone involved: Radio 10’s listening figures have fallen sharply since Gordon and Froukje de Both took over there during the morning rush hour. The program has now been intervened for the first time, because a presenter has been added to keep things on track: Jan-Paul Grootentraast. The question remains whether that will help.
‘To that fool!’
Johan Derksen also received the news. He lets in Today Inside know not to be surprised by the lack of success. “A morning show is very important for a radio station. There are people in the Netherlands who do not get a second chance, and Gordon has already had 25 chances.”
“Every time you think: now it’s over and then he gets another chance. Then he is put there with that Froukje de Bok, which has no smell or taste. It’s nothing at all! When you drive to work in the morning, I can imagine that you want a nice radio, but then you’re not going to listen to that fool with that Froukje there, are you, boys?”
Disgusting
It is incomprehensible that Gordon was given this job, says Johan. “It’s disgusting. John de Mol has given him another chance and he keeps letting you down. Not on the radio anymore! Just not on the radio anymore! Not on TV anymore!”
René van der Gijp laughing: “Not too? Just back in the coffee house?”
Johan: “Well, that’s an honest profession. You can earn a living that way.”
Argus eyes
According to Johan, John de Mol is disappointed with Goor’s scores. “John de Mol will look at the listening figures with suspicion, but the funny thing about Gordon is: he is a crazy person who is always on edge, but some people don’t even get a second chance in life, do they?” he adds in his podcast. Greetings from Grolloo.
“They are canceled and no longer participate in society. Gordon has already had 25 chances and every time there is someone who offers him a chance. I think: now we are completely done with Gordon? (…) Who is interested in Gordon’s nonsense?”
Intervene
Gordon himself is irritated that media such as AD, De Telegraaf and NU.nl describe this as an intervention. “Gordon lets us know that no action has been taken. That has not happened. They are just trying to find the best form,” notes Luuk Ikink at the desk of RTL Boulevard.
Vivienne van den Assem false: “With an intervention.”
Luuk laughs: “With an intervention, yes.”
