The Caroline Tensen classic One against 100 threatens to follow the Robert ten Brink classic Weekend Millionaires if RTL 4 does not intervene quickly. “Exchanging almost always leads to crying,” it sounds.
One against 100 was a fixture on RTL 4’s Sunday evenings for years, but now channel boss Peter van der Vorst has suddenly put that program sponsored by the Postcode Lottery on Saturday evenings. And according to ratings authority Tina Nijkamp, that really has a disastrous effect. The viewer is dropping out en masse.
Swapping and crying
Tina sympathizes with the presenter. “For Caroline Tensen, the grapes are the most sour. The change from Sunday to Saturday does not look good AT ALL for One against 100. Oops, oops, oops,” she writes on her analysis channel.
She continues: “With 559 thousand viewers and a meager 10.7 percent market share in the target group, this is now at the level of Vriendenloterij Miljonaires, a show that was canceled at that slot due to the low target group figures. Also about 400 thousand viewers fewer than on Sunday. Exchange almost always leads to crying.”
NPO 1 is king
Caroline is unlucky that Saturday evening is now more than ever the domain of NPO 1. “BAM. Saturday evening was already NPO 1’s, but now it has gone a step further! Just to Here won the day with 1.842 million viewers and a market share of 50.6 percent (!!!) in the target group 25 to 54 years.”
Wie is de Mol was number two with 1.822 million viewers and 55.3 percent. And then there is little left for RTL 4. Not only Caroline Tensen, but also the Chantal Janzen show Oh Wat Een Jaar scored disappointingly with 642 thousand viewers and a 17 percent market share. “A mediocre score.”
