Cagliari loses the second match in a row: the rossoblù end up knocked out against Lazio. At the Olimpico it is 2-0 for Sarri’s team, with Isaksen and Zaccagni scoring. It is the fourth defeat in six matches for Pisacane’s men. The coach commented on the match as follows: “I take home the fact that we have recovered some players who must then allow us to reach the goal. Playing a game of courage here gives us hope, even if in the end the points count in football. We saw a different amount of play and I am satisfied, even if only halfway.”
The coach’s words
Pisacane then analyzed the line-up: “I would start from a general principle which is to have a very specific idea and put the boys in a position to play. We came to the Olimpico to play the match we played. In the last matches we have had a defensive structure in the defensive phase that we don’t like to carry forward. Tonight however we had the opportunity to build a four-man team with Luperto and Mina”.
On Palestra, the coach added: “He’s a boy who I was lucky enough to meet in the Primavera too and he often played on the left. I think we have an engine to counter a talent like Isaksen, he managed it right up to the goal. The play of an individual isn’t enough to do everything well, a flick from the opponent is enough and it damages your performance.”
