Two ambulance nurses from the GGD Brabant-Zuidoost have been summarily dismissed. They have seriously violated the rules of conduct. The GGD confirmed this after reporting from the Eindhovens Dagblad. The newspaper bases itself on internal emails from two GGD directors.
The duo’s dismissal was reported to staff via two emails on October 17 and 21 reports the ED. The decision was made after ‘careful investigation.’ On October 30, it was announced that the integrity investigation had been completed and that all ‘necessary measures’ had been taken.
“The GGD Brabant-Zuidoost has the responsibility to ensure a safe and honest working environment for all its employees,” write Anne-Marijn de Wit and Rick de Kort of the GGD management.
It is not clear what happened and when and where the ambulance nurses might have crossed the line. The spokesperson for the GGD says that ‘unfortunately, due to privacy considerations, she cannot answer these questions.’
The GGD only wants to say to the ED that ‘this concerns a serious violation of the mutual norms of interaction that the GGD applies.’ Patients didn’t notice anything.
The matter will be followed up internally, according to a closing letter from the management. A quote: “As an organization, we attach great importance to a safe and respectful working environment. This requires constant attention, openness and joint effort. That is why managers will soon start discussions in all teams about what a safe working environment means to you.”
