The German rap icons Schwesta Ewa and Nura are currently exchanging blows on TikTok. It’s about the music video for “Tabledance”. The song was released in 2018 and is a feature by the German rap duo SXTN with Schwesta Ewa, who had recently been released from prison.

Ewa opens the discussion during a live stream: Nura is said to have initially not shown up for the video shoot because of sunburn. According to Schwesta Ewa, she was stuck with the costs for the large-scale filming in Berlin, which would have been in the double-digit million range. Nura later had the published video for the then number 1 hit deleted via her label Universal because she was seen less than her teammate Juju. The reason why the video was removed from YouTube was that Ewa’s team published a version that Nura did not agree to. This version contained scenes that Nura had removed because she didn’t feel comfortable with her freedom of movement afterwards.

The music video would have been an important opportunity for Schwesta Ewa’s comeback. She was just trying to counteract the collapse in her career caused by her two-year prison sentence. But the video remained offline – a missed opportunity to regain a foothold in the German rap scene, which Nura denied her, Ewa continued in the live stream.

Whether Nura will agree to this remains questionable – she describes the dispute as “kindergarten” and announces that she will not comment further on it.
