Thomas Müller is still three wins away from the 36th title of his career. In the play-off semi-finals of the Western Conference, Müller will now face Los Angeles FC with top player John, my son. The winner of this duel will play in the conference finals for a place in the MLS Cup final against the winner of the Eastern Conference. Then there could be a showdown with Inter Miami and all-star Lionel Messi. Müller made it clear before his arrival in Vancouver in the summer how important sporting success still is to him.
Sport is still the most important thing for me. Even though I’m now consciously taking a step out of Europe, it’s still important to me that where I play is really about sporting success.
And he is now one step closer to his greatest sporting success, the title, by winning on penalties in the second round of the playoffs against FC Dallas.
