After her divorce, Sandra bought her house on the water in Rosmalen eight years ago. “I walked in and thought: this is the moment my new life begins,” she says. Now, after years full of light, peace and views, she is saying goodbye to her beloved place on the Blue Oever.
When Sandra was looking for a place for a fresh start with her children, she came across this house. “I went through a difficult time. But when I came here, I immediately felt that I could continue here. The house is so light. And when I walked into the bedroom and looked outside, I knew: this is what it should be. The view over the water and the fields gives a feeling of freedom.”

Living on the water
The house is located in the De Watertuinen district, on the edge of Rosmalen. “It is a quiet, child-friendly neighborhood, but you are also in the village in no time,” says Sandra. “You can even do ‘boat’ shopping here. You can sail via our water to the large lake, where you can moor at the supermarket, for example. There is even a beach for recreation.”
The water brings life to the brewery. “In the summer the children sail on their boats or go paddle boarding, and in the winter you can sometimes go onto the ice from your own jetty. During the corona period, the entire neighborhood was on the ice, with carnival music playing. That was really a party.”

Light everywhere
The house is for sale for 725,000 euros. It has three bedrooms, solar panels and a living area of 138 square meters on a plot of 201 square meters. Thanks to the large windows, light enters everywhere. “In the morning the sun reflects on the water and the light dances across the ceiling. It remains magical to see.”

Time to move on
Yet the time has come to move on. “I have now remarried. We always had a relationship, but now we are moving in together. The children are older, so it is time for a new step.”
She doesn’t have to think long about who will come to live here. “I think young families are completely at home here, just like we were back then. But also couples whose children have already left home. It is perfect for people who love peace, water and space.”
