A spokesperson for the Royal Military Police tells NH that the woman was at the airport with her sixteen-year-old brother around 6:15 p.m. when she had an altercation with the taxi driver.

“That altercation turned into an argument and that led to assault,” the spokesperson said. The woman was said to have been kicked and beaten; the severe abuse left her with a crack in her nose and a broken wrist.

License plate noted

The taxi driver fled after the assault, but was arrested by the police on the highway towards Lijnden because his license plate number had been noted by witnesses to the assault.

The man was arrested for serious assault and transferred to the Royal Military Police, which is investigating the case.
