But I also believe – he continues – that, at the basis of everything, there is destiny. In other words, you can have all the positive thoughts on the planet regarding the arrival of a love or a job, but I believe that if the meeting or the job opportunity do not fit into the plans that destiny has in store for us, then even the positive thoughts leave the time they find. Likewise, even having negative thoughts, it doesn’t mean that love won’t come… What do you think?”.
There is extensive literature on this point. Including the most extremist one which advises us not to limit ourselves to having a positive thought about something we desire, but even suggests behaving as if the object of desire were already in our possession.

Personally, I have always been a fan of the optimism of the will: without believing that you can do it, therefore, being positive towards yourself first and foremost, you cannot even try to achieve something. But I’m not convinced that having positive thoughts can solve existential problemslike finding a love or a job… certainly, however, it helps to live better if you can’t find them.
