After a break due to injury, basketball star Luka Doncic has made an impressive return to the NBA.
The Slovenian shone with 44 points in his Los Angeles Lakers’ 117:112 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Doncic recorded over 40 points in each of his first three games of the season – only NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain has achieved this so far.
Pause due to injury
“He has the ability to carry a team and he showed that today”said Austin Reaves about his teammate’s impressive return, who also had 12 rebounds and six assists. Doncic is averaging 46 points so far, but the superstar had to sit out three games due to a sprained left finger.
The game in Tennessee was the first day of Group B of the NBA Cup in the West. The Chicago Bulls, who celebrated their fifth win of the season with a 135:125 win against the New York Knicks, remain flawless. In the East, the Philadelphia 76ers lost 108:109 to the Boston Celtics and suffered their first defeat of the season.
