Kiel takes the first chance to take the lead

The game in front of 10,491 spectators in the Preußenstadion started slowly, and there were no chances to score in the opening quarter of an hour. The visitors then took advantage of their first opportunity to take the lead: Alexander Bernhardsson was sent on the right side and passed low to the penalty spot, where Kaprálik hit the goal flat on the left. As a result, both teams had chances: Lasse Rosenboom (38th) and Bernhardsson (45th + 5) narrowly missed for Kiel, while Babis Makridis hit the crossbar for Münster (40th).

Controversial penalty equalizes

Nothing happened for a long time after the break, then things became turbulent: First, Münster’s Bouchama fell after slight contact on the ankle by Bernhardsson, referee Jarno Wienefeld pointed to the spot. Batista-Meier converted the penalty. A few minutes later, Kiel led again through Bernhardsson, but the goal was taken back due to the Swede’s near offside position.

A quarter of an hour before the end, Bouchama let the hosts celebrate with a deflected shot from around 15 meters. The Münster team also survived an eleven-minute stoppage time.
