Led by world and European champion Franz Wagner, the Orlando Magic clinched their second win of the season in the NBA.
The team defeated the Charlotte Hornets 123:107, Wagner contributed 21 points and was the best thrower of the game. The 24-year-old also had five rebounds and three assists.
Tristan da Silva, who won the European Championship title together with Wagner and the German national team in Latvia in September, scored a strong 19 points, as well as three rebounds and an assist.
With the second win in the sixth game, Orlando has gained some breathing room after a bumpy start to the new season; the team had recently lost four times in a row.
However, the reigning NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder around the German center and power forward Isaiah Hartenstein is still on the road to success. OKC won 127:108 against the Washington Wizards for their sixth win in their sixth game. Hartenstein contributed 17 points as well as eight rebounds and five assists. Oklahoma continues to lead the Western Conference table unchallenged.
