The polling station at Alkmaar station is being demolished. Yesterday, all residents of the municipality, on their way to work or study, came to cast their votes. Buses and trains are now busy again. “I voted for the winner,” says a commuter who voted for D66, while on his way to the train. In Alkmaar, Rob Jetten’s party defeated Geert Wilders’ PVV.
That party loses about a third of the votes. The commuter at Alkmaar station says that he voted NSC last time. Why now on D66? “The way he campaigned.” Nationally, the D66 now has won seventeen seats. It is currently still a neck-and-neck race between that party and the PVV.
“I voted JA21. I think nuclear energy is important, he has a good program,” says a traveler about Joost Eerdmans. The party has five more seats in Alkmaar. The voter in question chose D66 last time.
