Early voting in Castricum has now become a tradition. It seems like a competition to see who is number one. Castric number Guus was, after a second place in 2023so now the earliest bird. He was closely followed by Jan Paternotte. The D66 MP from Leiden had arranged a voter’s pass so that he could go to Castricum. And for the first time there was also a woman in the top three: Rosanne Rootert (44) from Castricum.

Chairman of the polling station goes to bed satisfied

Voting was possible until 1 a.m. at ‘polling station 2’ in Captain Rommel’s Garden, opposite the station. The turnout: 96. “Very good,” says Hans van Schoor, the chairman of the polling station. “Normally it’s between thirty and fifty. There was a traffic jam. I’m going to bed happy.”

This morning at 7:30 am the door of this polling station will open again, just like at the other polling stations. You can vote for the House of Representatives until 9 p.m. at the latest.
