The riot police had to intervene when Den Bosch supporters wanted to visit the opposing fans via the field, who were throwing fireworks. It was decided that the away section had to be empty before play could continue.

ADO had opened the score in the twentieth minute through Luka Reischl, after which Daryl van Mieghem doubled the lead three minutes later, 0-2. Thijs van Leeuwen leveled the score with two goals, but Van Mieghem again gave ADO the lead from the penalty spot, 2-3.
After the interruption, Kévin Monzialo made it 3-3 for Den Bosch. In the penalty shootout, Rafi Wolters scored the winner (5-4) for the home team. It meant the first defeat of the season for the leaders of the first division.
