Kalle Rovanperä performed its first tests with a Formula 2 car.
Rovanperä said that he drove the equipment of the Hitech garage in Spain at the Jerez motor track. Nothing was leaked about the tests in advance, so the Finn’s debut at the wheel of an F2 car was wanted to be carried out as secretly as possible.
Rovanperä got to drive the equipment for several driving days.
– The first F2 test behind. I can be satisfied with the test days. I got a lot of valuable driving time and finally got a real feel for the car, Rovanperä says on Instagram.
Based on the pictures, Rovanperä tested the previous generation Formula 2 car.
– Good first test. Physically, the driving was tough, as I expected, but in terms of time I did well against the team’s drivers, Rovanperä commented on the tests for IS.
Rovanperä will compete in the Japanese Super Formula series next season. The plans are to drive in the Formula 2 class in 2027.
Rovanperä drove a Formula 1 car in a PR stunt organized by Red Bull last year. At that time, the Finn got to drive the 2012 Red Bull RB8 car at the Red Bull Ring.
