Maurizio Fondriest and his daughter Carlotta tackled the second stage of the Gravel Burn in South Africa. In today’s video Maurizio talks about the training during his childhood, the one inherited from his father and his coach, who played an important role in his career. In this second stage, which covers 108 kilometers from Avontuur to Willonmmore, the extreme temperature variations of the desert are noticeable. In the morning, temperatures were just above freezing, the bikes were covered in ice, while in the afternoon, upon arrival, the temperature exceeded 25 degrees.
