Two women were violently robbed in July after a chat trick. The perpetrator posed as a police officer. One of the victims, a 90-year-old woman from Breda, even pulled her rings off her fingers. Images of the suspect will be shown on Monday in the Bureau Brabant investigation program.

The man told both women that their home was on a ‘burglary list’. For insurance purposes, an agent would supposedly come by to check the house and valuables.

The first victim, a 90-year-old woman on Valkrustdreef in Breda, did not trust the story and hung up the phone. However, the man continued to call and showed up at her home between half past three and five in the afternoon. The man could not identify himself. Still, he managed to overwhelm her and entered the house.

Inside, he took pictures with his phone and locked himself in the bedroom, where he rummaged around. Then he wanted to take pictures of jewelry. He grabbed the woman’s hands and forcibly pulled her rings from her fingers. The woman later discovered that her safe had also been broken into. It is not known whether anything was stolen from there.

Two meters
Three days later the suspect struck again. Now with an 80-year-old woman at the Schapendries in Oosterhout. She also fell victim to the man after he also overpowered her and stole her jewelry.

The police are looking for a man about two meters tall, between 25 and 30 years old. He has a muscular build and short, curly hair. During the robberies he wore beige pants, light sneakers and a black shirt or jacket. The images of the suspect can be seen in Bureau Brabant on Monday evening.
