Around 3 a.m. last night, the police received a report of a single-vehicle traffic accident on the A1 near Laren. Upon arrival, police placed a police car at a ‘safe distance’ from the accident. Further on, large red crosses and speed limits were indicated on the highway.
Yet there was a motorist who had not seen the warnings and then crashed into the police car at high speed. The driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken to hospital.
The police are investigating the incident.
