“What a lap,” sighed Norris after the news that no one was faster than him anymore. “I’m happy to have pole again, it was a while ago. That’s a great feeling.”

“To be honest, it was a lap where I didn’t know exactly what was happening. It felt good, but when I crossed the line and saw 1.15.5, I was pleasantly surprised,” he said with a big smile. “I’ve been feeling good all weekend, especially today. I was a bit scared in Q3 because of Ferrari, but we managed.”
He is not afraid of the long sprint to Turn 1 on Sunday. “I’m not going to lose sleep over that. I’ve had good races here in the past. I’m going to focus on what I have in my own hands. That’s all I can do.”
Ferrari on 2 and 3
Next to him on the qualifying podium were two Ferraris. “It was very tricky, but I am very happy,” said number two Charles Leclerc. “There are always little things in a qualification, but in the end I am very happy with our performance.”
Lewis Hamilton starts from P3 on Sunday. “I’m happy that Charles and I are here together on the qualifying podium. That’s the first time. It will be difficult to beat them tomorrow, but P3 is secretly the ideal starting position here.”
