On Thursday evening (October 23rd), the fans who were already waiting for the performance in the “ZAG Arena” in Hanover found out about the cancellation just 20 minutes before the start. Ayliva published an Instagram story in which she addressed her audience directly: “I’m sorry, I know you’ve been waiting outside for a long time and you probably heard that we had a long sound check. We tried everything.”
She further explained that they had “rehearsed a show in a swivel chair/wheelchair early on,” but despite “strong medication,” her condition had gotten “extremely” worse. The performance would increase the “risk of deterioration,” said the musician.
Other Hanover shows were also canceled
Another Instagram story followed on Friday afternoon (October 24th). In it, Ayliva announced that the other two planned and sold-out concerts in Hanover also had to be canceled for health reasons. The trigger was a stitch on her foot, which became infected within a few hours so that she could no longer walk. A new “medical examination” revealed further deterioration. The singer explained in her story that the risk would be “too high” with further performances.
Reactions from fans are mixed
Ayliva is followed by around 950,000 people on Instagram. Some reacted angrily to the short-notice cancellation. “The show is canceled 15 minutes after admission, honestly? My girls have been looking forward to this moment for a year,” wrote a disappointed fan under the singer’s current post. Fans vented their anger in numerous other comments: “Ayliva knew beforehand that she was ill and also had the bee sting. You cancel something like that in good time and don’t let people arrive for free, pay for hotels and have been looking forward to this day for over a year,” said another posting.
At the same time, many fans show understanding and compassion for the musician who was taken out of action. Dozens of followers flooded the comments section of her latest Instagram post with messages like “We love u forever Ayliva”. In addition to well-wishes, one user wrote: “Elif, you gave it your all! You even wanted to try it in a wheelchair!” And addressed a few words to angry fans: “Please understand! You can be sad, yes! But please don’t carry hate! Spread love!!”
Dortmund concerts are on the brink
Ayliva’s unstable health and the six canceled gigs worry many fans. They now fear that the final concerts of “The Ayliva Tour 2025” in Dortmund could also be at risk. However, there is still hope.
