In the first leg of the semi-finals of the Nations League, national coach Christian Wück’s team wants to take a big step towards the final. But top-class opponents await with the “Équipe Tricolore”. Follow the game here in the live ticker.

It’s a meeting of old friends: Germany versus France. The football hit for women too. Over 35,000 spectators are expected in the Düsseldorf stadium when the DFB women and the “Bleues” fight for the best starting position for a place in the final in the semi-final first leg of the Nations League from 5:45 p.m.

For the German selection of national coach Christian Wück, the game brings back memories of the dramatic European Championship quarter-finals against the French. In July in Basel, Germany won 7-6 on penalties.

And what is happening today? Follow the game live here in the ticker from 5:45 p.m.

23rd minute of the game – What a back and forth: Anyomi prevails after a pass on the left and puts it across the middle of the penalty area for Wamser. But France’s defender Alice Sombath is there and blocks both Wamser’s shot and Franziska Kett’s follow-up shot.

22nd minute of the game – It now goes back and forth: On the other side, Cascarino is suddenly free, can make his way into the German penalty area, tries a shot into the far corner – Johannes has to stretch a lot, only lets the ball rebound. Kadidiatou Diani wants to win, but Kathrin Hendrich clears at the last second. That was close.

20th minute of play – Now it’s the DFB team again: Bühl is deployed on the left, makes her way to the six-yard box – but she completely misses her shot.

18. minute of play – Now the French are venturing forward more, they are getting better and have more possession of the ball. However, a conclusion is still a long way off.

13. minute of play – The guests’ first shot: Delphine Cascarino tries it from a good 20 meters. It was almost a desperate attempt, but DFB goalkeeper Stina Johannes didn’t force her to intervene and the shot went wide of the goal.

9th minute of the game – The next opportunity for national coach Wück’s players: Jule Brand puts Klara Bühl on the left edge of the penalty area, where the attacker also gets a shot, but her shot goes over the goal. A goal wouldn’t have counted anyway – Bühl was just offside

8th minute of the game – The French are currently barely able to free themselves from their own half. They are repeatedly put under pressure by the German players and make mistakes in the build-up.
