Jeroen Pauw and Tim de Wit have been colleagues for a while, but since this week they have actually been presenting together. How does that work? “There isn’t much chemistry between the two yet.”
Jeroen Pauw’s TV career is long. Very long. He has already attended many elections and is now participating again in the run-up to the upcoming House of Representatives elections. While he used to make duo talk shows with Paul Witteman, Eva Jinek and Sophie Hilbrand, he currently presents Pauw & De Wit not alternately, but together with Tim de Wit.
No chemistry
TV critic Victor Vlam does not think it is a convincing duo. “There is not much chemistry between the two yet. They seem to have each been assigned their own blocks and are completing them,” he says in the podcast Victor Indicates TV.
He continues: “The transitions between them are still a bit difficult. In all respects it is not yet a smooth collaboration. Pauw also tried to make a joke about Tim on Tuesday evening.”
Teasing
What exactly happened? Tim informed the viewer about the new polls, in which BBB has been halved. He rubbed his hands together, to which Jeroen delicately pointed out.
Victor: “That kind of teasing is an indication of whether there is chemistry, but in this case it was a bit of an awkward moment, because Tim didn’t quite know how to deal with it. I think it was very clear that the two still had to get used to each other.”
‘Work in store’
There really was a lot more chemistry between Pauw and Jinek, Victor believes. As far as he is concerned, there is work to be done for the BnnVara duo, although they will not have much time to get used to each other. The elections are already on Wednesday.
According to him, one thing is certain: “They still really have to work on it.”
