According to what was reported by the Serbian national broadcaster RTS, the Euroleague (since 2019) and ABA League referee Uros Nikolic, 39, was arrested during a large police operation. According to RTS reports, the police found 250,000 euros in Nikolic’s apartment. The 39-year-old was reportedly stopped as part of an international police operation in which a total of 10 people were arrested with a number of serious crimes alleged. Nikolic was part of the officiating team designated for the 2021 Euroleague Final Four in Cologne and 2024 in Berlin. This season he has refereed four matches so far: Panathinaikos-Bayern, Real Madrid-Olympiacos, Hapoel Tel Aviv-Maccabi Tel Aviv and Dubai Basketball-Bayern Munich.
