With his goal against Club Brugge, Lennart Karl wrote his name into FC Bayern’s history books. After the game he talks about his performance – and makes an announcement.

At the age of 17, he was the center of attention at FC Bayern: Lennart Karl caused a stir with his remarkable goal to give the club a 1-0 lead against Club Bruges. And he was still noticeably euphoric after the German record champions’ final 4-0 win.

“I’m very happy with my goal, with my performance,” said the teenager in an interview with DAZN on Wednesday evening. What’s more: “Everything just works, things are going very, very well with the boys, I can learn a lot from them.”

After the game, Karl received the Player of the Game award. “To then also become ‘Man of the Match’ – that’s very, very good,” confirmed Karl, who nevertheless remained modest. “I have to build on that now and not stop just because I scored a goal. I just have to keep going.”

Karl emphasized that what sets him apart is his carefree attitude: “I’m just that type of player, I take the chances. I’m not afraid of the opponent.” He was also aware of the consequences of his strong performance – but emphasized that he was unimpressed by it: “Now I’ve scored my first goal, now many, many people are watching me. But I don’t actually feel any pressure.”
