Johan Derksen threatens to confront Henri Bontenbal tonight with a table full of Today Inside gays. “Raymond Mens, Wouter de Winther, Victor Vlam: we invite them all!”

Decency preacher Henri Bontenbal is sky-high in the polls, but the CDA leader has been badly criticized by Nieuwsuur. According to the politician, it is not such an objection that homosexual relationships are disapproved within reformed or Islamic education. According to him, reformed schools produce ‘exemplary students’.

No more prime minister

Johan Derksen is completely done with that man. “I think that Bontenbal should no longer become prime minister. He made such a mistake at Nieuwsuur that it is irreparable. So he said that Islamic schools and strict Christian schools can in principle prohibit students from having a homosexual relationship with each other,” he says in VI.

“For the first time in the campaign he said something and he immediately smashed his own glasses. This should be a reason for any decent party to say: ‘We no longer work with the CDA.’ I think this is not possible. He is talking about the non-rule of law proposals that Wilders is putting forward, but he is doing exactly the same!”

Decency preacher

It’s just hypocritical, says René van der Gijp. “He preaches decency, right?”

Johan: “Yes, but this is not decent at all! We have four gay colleagues sitting at the table here, you know. You can’t let everyone say that, can you? Here’s one!”

Reference is made to Arend Jan Boekestijn, who can laugh about it. René: “Practical, eh!”

Wilfred then lists the VI gays. “Let’s have a look. Raymond, Wouter, Albert.”

Johan: “Victor Vlam. Victor Vlam.”

Wilfred: “Victor Vlam.”

Don’t act gay

Table guest Dilan Yesilgöz thinks Bontenbal’s setup is very wrong. “Schools can now say: you can be gay, but you can’t act gay. You just have to be able to intervene in that. That’s not possible.”

Johan: “They shout in unison that it is a tragedy that gays can no longer walk hand in hand in Amsterdam and then he comes up with such a proposal? I think that any party that does business with him, if he does not withdraw it, is unbelievable and extremely uncivilized.”

Bontenball in VI

Bontenbal is in VI tonight. “Then you can tackle him!” Wilfred shouts.

Johan: “Well, let’s get to it, then he should explain it! (…) Bontenbal managed to attract a lot of people with his Mr. Nice Guy act, but now he has ruined it himself! We put all the gays from our team here at the table! That’s right! Bontenbal surrounded by gays! Wouter with us!”

Wilfred: “Are you going to invite them all? Yes?”

Johan: “Then we need a bigger table.”

Dilan critical

Dilan warns the voter. “This is not what fits in our liberal democracy. Standing up for freedoms. This is what I meant between: what does someone say and what is written down and what are they going to do from the 30th? If you have people who talk smoothly, are fun and who you vote for on the 29th… You should definitely do that, but also see what they are planning.”

She also points to the leader of D66. “I think Jetten did a nice job here, but my father always warned me about nice boys with smooth talk. I thought: come on men, ask a little more about what is really on paper.”

Gladjanus

René actually agrees with that. “He’s a bit of a slouch. It’s of course not okay if you keep talking about the climate all the time and now you don’t hear him talk about it anymore. That’s crazy.”

Wilfred: “Yes, you will hear that again afterward!”

Johan: “He is very commercial in his subjects, Jetten. He has thought about it and he scores with it!”

Finally, Dilan: “I hear D66 moving towards the right for the first time, so what I hear makes me happy. Then I think: we can do something with that, but I have never had support from D66 with national measures against asylum.”
