Minister Piantedosi’s provision after the incidents on Saturday 18 October will come into force immediately: 4,000 tickets had already been sold in the guest section for Milan-Pisa

Three months of travel prohibited. This is the measure, taken directly by the Minister of the Interior Mario Piantedosi, towards the fans of Pisa and Verona. The decision came following a discussion with the National Observatory on sporting events. The underlying motivation is the clashes between ultras that took place between Pisa and Verona on Saturday 18 October in Pisa, before the Serie A match against Hellas Verona at 3pm. The procedure will be immediate, starting from Friday 24 October, when Milan-Pisa will be played. 4,000 away tickets had been sold.

the facts

Around 11.30, around 200 Verona ultras, without an escort, moved towards the Garibaldi Arena. There, in the center of the city, contact occurred with various Pisa supporters, including throwing objects and direct contact. A series of incidents quelled only by the intervention of the police, who fired tear gas to disperse the ultras. Some objects used as weapons were then found on the ground: a knife, hydraulic pipes, flag poles filled with quick-setting cement, buckles. A couple of days later, on Monday 20 October, five of the Veronese ended up under house arrest. The Digos of Pisa then worked on the videos, developing a detailed report, from which Piantedosi’s provision was based, after the first judgment of the National Observatory on sporting events. Therefore, until January 2026, Pisa and Verona will play away matches without fans following them.
