Women’s sport DOES NOT exist is the provocative title of a round table that will take place on Sunday 26 October from 6pm to 7.30pm at Carcano Theatre in Milan, which will officially kick off the GGWCup Milano 2026.

Women’s sport doesn’t exist

The meeting is included within theCultural Olympics of Milan-Cortina 2026 and will represent the opening ceremony of the first Italian edition of the Global Goals World Cupan all-female five-a-side football tournament, created to promote the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The meeting will be free and will serve to present the GGWCup project which will develop between January and June in a series of events to involve the city, schools, university through talks, workshops and a photographic exhibition on female empowerment through sport. In May 2026 there will be two days of women’s five-a-side football. The objective of this initiative is to promote a culture of sport capable of generating a social and lasting impact over time.

The round table Women’s sport DOES NOT exist it will be a moment of discussion on how sport can and must be a space of real equality in which gender does not define roles, opportunities or recognition. Institutional figures, athletes, journalists and managers will participate and with their testimonies will illustrate the state and development prospects of the women’s sports movement in Italy.
