Worldwide, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the stage for innovative growth companies to show what they have to offer and an important place to do international business. More than forty Dutch innovative startups and scale-ups will therefore attend this annual tech fair in Las Vegas, America, from January 6-9, 2026.
In the coming months, the Dutch startups will follow a training program from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), aimed at how they can best present their innovations to potential customers, investors and partners.
Minister Karremans (Economic Affairs): “Startups and scale-ups provide growth, innovation and solutions for the major challenges of today and tomorrow, such as the energy transition and increasing aging population. They are therefore indispensable for our prosperity. That is why I want the Netherlands to have the best startup and scale-up climate in Europe. To achieve this, our companies must also be able to shine internationally, such as at the CES in Las Vegas. Because if they are successful, everyone benefits. After all, with a strong economy we can continue to pay for our healthcare, our education and our safety.”
Last month, the government presented the action agenda ‘Building the tech champions of tomorrow’. This should ensure a stronger Dutch startup and scale-up business climate. Among other things, more risk-bearing capital will become available, a new tax scheme for employee participation that will apply from January 1, 2027 and the government’s temporary booster program Techleap will continue for another 3 years until 2029. Access to international markets is essential, such as for finding customers, partners and investors.
Dutch participants at CES 2026
Innovative companies from all over the country travel to the CES. Like Cyberettewhich developed a method for detecting ‘deep fakes’ to prevent digital fraud. Leyden Jar is working on battery technology that extends the operating time of electrical appliances and reduces CO2 emissions. And Ambyon is building a logistics robot for care support in the hospital.
The official kick-off of the Dutch CES Las Vegas mission will take place during CES Unveiled Europe on Tuesday, October 28 at Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam. The participating startups will then show the latest innovations that they will bring to CES 2026.
The Netherlands is participating in the CES for the ninth time. In the past eight years, hundreds of Dutch companies have attended the CES to scale up internationally. For many companies, participating in the CES was a breakthrough.
In previous years, many agreements were concluded between Dutch participants and international companies. So closed SmartQare last year signed a contract with Philips for worldwide distribution. And made Advanced Audio Labs a deal with Renesas, a Japanese chip manufacturer.
