No trains will run to and from Den Bosch until at least ten o’clock on Monday morning. Train traffic around Vught is at a standstill until at least eleven in the morning. This is due to problems with the new temporary track between Boxtel and Den Bosch.
The NS previously reported that the situation in Den Bosch would last until nine o’clock.
No buses will be used as replacement transport on the routes on Monday morning. There are many disappointed travelers at the station in Den Bosch in the morning. Signs indicate that there are no trains running.
Problems
There are problems with the overhead lines on a new temporary track between Boxtel and Den Bosch. “It is not possible to get voltage on the overhead line. Voltage tests also have to be carried out,” reports Lotte Kaatee of ProRail.
The problems cause a lot of delays. For travelers between Utrecht and Den Bosch, a detour via Arnhem is hardly possible. This is due to work between Arnhem Central Station and Driebergen-Zeist.
First train
The first train would run on the temporary track between Boxtel and Den Bosch on Monday morning. There is also a new temporary Vught station – that station would also come into operation for the first time on Monday.
“This should actually be a festive morning,” says Kaatee from ProRail. “We worked on a temporary track for sixteen days and nights in a row. That is very unique, we never actually do that.”
Ultimately, Vught will have a deepened track, the construction of which will take several years.
