In addition to the Ottenshoes, there were 22 locations where people could go. Visitors were given a map of the village or could follow a two-kilometer woolen thread that connected everything. “We have many different storytellers,” says Niels Brandaan. “We have storytellers from abroad, Belgium and top storytellers from the Netherlands, but there are also many participating residents and entrepreneurs from Orvelte who want to surprise you with the most beautiful stories you can imagine.”
Brandaan is the owner of Brandaan story house and told a Sage this weekend about the origins of Orvelte. “This used to be a horse stable, but we have now turned it into a small theater for almost fifty people,” he says as he walks into his theater room. His goal: connecting through imagination. “Every story is actually a story of all of us. There is only one story and that is the cumulative story. Stories connect everything to everything in all time.”
