SC Paderborn won their fifth win in a row in the thrilling East Westphalian derby and are in a promotion spot in the 2nd Bundesliga for at least 24 hours. After falling behind twice, the hosts managed a 4:3 (1:2) win against Arminia Bielefeld and took second place in the table with 20 points. The promoted team, however, had to accept their fourth defeat in a row.
The guests from Bielefeld, almost 40 kilometers away, made it 1-0 in the 16th minute thanks to a penalty kick converted by Joel Grodowski and caused by Mattes Hansen, before Mika Baur finished off a nice attack from Paderborn to make it 1-1 ten minutes later. In the exciting game, the strong Monju Momuluh (29th) quickly put the guests back in the lead after some impressive preparatory work from Grodowski.
A brace from new signing Steffen Tigges (50th/62nd) and a converted penalty kick from Filip Bilbija (55th) brought the Paderborn team victory in the hard-fought derby. For Bilbija it was the fifth goal in the last four games. With the third penalty of the day, Tim Handwerker was only able to reduce the score to 3:4 for Arminia in the Home Deluxe Arena, which was sold out with 15,000 spectators (73′).
Late winning goal: 1. FC Kaiserslautern wins the southwest derby in Karlsruhe
1. FC Kaiserslautern won a fast-paced southwest derby against Karlsruher SC and thus secured themselves in the top group of the 2nd league. The Red Devils won their rivals 3-2 (2-0) and are in fourth place at least until Sunday’s games. Karlsruhe, on the other hand, missed the step up.
Lautern’s attacker Ivan Prtajin (11th) gave the guests the lead in the early stages. After the break, Naatan Skyttä (54′) made it 2-0 with a deflected shot. Shortly afterwards, KSC scored again through Fabian Schleusener (58th). In the final phase, Lilian Egloff (83′) scored the deserved equalizer on an assist from debutant Eymen Laghrissi, who was only 17 years old. Everything pointed to a draw before Lautern’s captain Marlon Ritter (90+3) secured the lucky victory late on with a counterattack.
Prtajin made it 1-0 early by using his backheel to extend a shot from teammate Mika Haas into the goal. In an entertaining game, there were good opportunities for further goals on both sides. Lautern’s Fabian Kunze pushed the ball next to the goal after a free kick. The Karlsruhe team failed several times due to FCK keeper Julian Krahl.

After the break, Skyttä’s shot was deflected and landed unstoppably in the goal. The second goal finally woke up the KSC. After Schleusener’s goal, there were further opportunities for the hosts. Egloff took advantage of one of these chances. But that wasn’t enough because Ritter completed a perfect FCK counterattack.
Dream goal is not enough: Dynamo Dresden also without a win in Münster
Dynamo Dresden’s winless streak continued at Preußen Münster. Both teams separated with a score of 2:2 (0:1). Dynamo has been waiting for a win for six games and remains in the bottom of the table.
Alexander Rossipal took the lead for Dresden in the 23rd minute with a fantastic free kick goal. After the break, Münster’s Jorrit Hendrix (51′) equalized with a volley before Dynamo’s Lars Bünning (71′) headed in to make it 2-1. The defender then scored the final score with an own goal (85th). In stoppage time, Dresden’s substitute Stefan Kutschke (90.+7) was shown a red card after an attack.
In a fast-paced game, the hosts initially had the better opportunities. Dresden’s Lukas Boeder saves on the line from a Münster goal (13th). Shortly afterwards, a deflected shot from Lars Lokotsch hit the crossbar and prevented Münster from taking the lead (15th). Dynamo proved to be much more efficient and took the lead through Rossipal’s free kick from a good 25 meters. Even after falling behind, Münster remained in control. However, the exploitation of opportunities left a lot to be desired until the break.

That changed after the break when Münster’s captain Hendrix scored the deserved equalizer with fine shooting technique. Bünning then took the lead again before the ball bounced from the post to his thigh in the final phase and from there into his own goal.
