The American Grand Prix qualifying rounds of the 2025 Formula 1 season witnessed great excitement. At the end of the session held at the Austin track, Red Bull’s Dutch star Max Verstappen took the pole position with a time of 1:32.510. Verstappen’s closest follower was McLaren pilot Lando Norris, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took third place.
Q1: RED FLAG WITH HADJAR CRASH
While the pilots took to the track with the green flag in the first part of the session, a short time later, Isack Hadjar caused red flags as a result of his accident at turn 6. The session restarted after the car was removed from the track.
At the end of the first episode, Charles Leclerc came out on top with a time of 1:33.525. However, in the last minutes, Max Verstappen took first place with 1:33.207. While Mercedes drivers were in the second and third places, Franco Colapinto, Gabriel Bortoleto, Esteban Ocon, Lance Stroll and Isack Hadjar were out of the rankings.
Q2: VERSTAPPEN DOES NOT SLOW DOWN
In the second episode, Red Bull pilot Verstappen came out on top with his lap of 1:32.701. No one beat this score and the Dutch pilot completed the second session as the leader.
While Leclerc took second place, Norris found himself in third place. In this round, Hülkenberg, Lawson, Tsunoda, Gasly and Colapinto were eliminated.
Q3: POLE POSITION TO VERSTAPPEN
When the pilots took to the track in the last episode, Verstappen again set the first serious lap time: 1:32.510. This level could not be exceeded for the rest of the session.
McLaren driver Lando Norris was in second place with only 0.4 seconds difference. Ferrari’s Monaco star Charles Leclerc was third, while George Russell and Lewis Hamilton were fourth and fifth respectively.
Oscar Piastri took sixth place and young Italian Kimi Antonelli took seventh place.
