Joran Wyseure was the best in the opener in Ruddervoorde last year. The West Flemish then left Vandeputte and Vanthourenhout behind him. The Crelan-Corendon rider immediately scored in his first race this season. He took victory in the Berencross in Meulebeke. On Thursday in Ardooie he came third.
Defending title
“I will definitely defend my title on Sunday,” he looked ahead on Friday. “Will that happen with less pressure after my victory in Meulebeke? A little healthy stress is always good. I may have had a little too little of that in Ardooie. I probably took the cross a little too lightly, but I ended up neatly third.”
