According to coach Patrick Stritzki, there is a very simple reason why Moorburger TSV still goes out on the pitch week after week: “In the end, it’s all about playing football with your team and having fun.”
The club took a stand on its Instagram channel after the record bankruptcy. If you only look at the numbers, you miss what’s important. They are proud that the team started outnumbered and played the game with poise. “Our team proved today that it is not the result that defines us – but the way we treat each other, how we fight and how we stand together as a club,” said Moorburger TSV.
And so player-coach Stritzki and his boys and girls will compete again next Sunday and fight for three points. The opponent is Indian Football on October 19th (1 p.m.). It’s a duel of equals: the last player receives the second-to-last, neither of them has yet collected a point.
