Lola’s body was found on October 14, 2022 in a plastic suitcase left on the street near her home in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. The girl had not come home after school that afternoon, after which her parents raised the alarm.

Security cameras captured Dahbia, who was homeless at the time and staying in her sister’s apartment, approaching Lola in front of the building. An hour and a half later, she was filmed with several suitcases, including the suitcase in which the body was later found.

Illegal in France

Dahbia, born in Algeria, was living illegally in France and had been ordered to leave the country several months earlier. According to the police, she gave an incoherent account of the events. After a psychiatric examination it was determined that she is accountable and can therefore stand trial.

The suspect has been held in Fresnes prison, south of Paris, since her arrest. If she is found guilty, she faces life in prison. The trial will last until next Friday, when the court will deliver its verdict.
