Zalando wants to accelerate its growth in the beauty segment and is bringing in an expert from L’Oréal.
Thomas Gayera is taking on the role of Vice President Beauty at the Berlin online retailer, Zalando announced on Wednesday. He will be responsible for the overall strategy in this area, where the company recorded double-digit growth last year. Gayera and his team will drive Zalando’s beauty offering in Europe through improved curation, technology-enabled personalization and content formats.
According to his own information on the LinkedIn career network, the new beauty boss has been working for Zalando since September. Before that, he worked for the French cosmetics group L’Oréal since 2007, first for around ten years for the German subsidiary and then in the Paris headquarters. Most recently, he has been working as Managing Director for L’Oréal Switzerland since August 2021.
