A knitting cotton wool? A knit-a-long! This is an evening of watching a movie at the cinema while working on your craft. In addition to balls of wool, this evening is also about meeting other knitters and crocheters.

During the knitting-a-long on Tuesday, November 4, Zoetermeer craftsmen sit together in a room to watch the film Downtown Abbey. In the meantime, they are working on their new socks, winter sweater or crocheted tops.

Knitting in the Zoetermeer cinema

The initiators for the knit-a-long in Zoetermeer, Eva-Mary Crone from Feestje bij Eef and Jacqueline van den Heiligenberg from Bleaters & Co. Eva says: “I took inspiration from Rotterdam, among others, where similar evenings have been organized before.” Eva and Jacqueline thought it was time for the Zoetermeer variant and contacted Kinepolis Zoetermeer.

Crafting at home on the couch is wonderfully relaxing, according to Eva. During a knit-a-long you can have a nice chat with others and share your enthusiasm for needlework. “Many young girls attend such evenings in other cities,” says Eva. They don’t go to the café, but to the cinema to knit together. Crafting together connects.”

This is how the knit-a-long works in Zoetermeer

On Tuesday, November 4, from 7:00 PM you can watch the film Downtown Abbey together with 49 other enthusiastic knitters and crocheters in the smallest room of Kinepolis Zoetermeer. The light in the room remains dimmed so that you can still see your knitting needles. You can buy tickets online at 9.95 euros each Kinepolis website (after mid-October). The film is two hours long, so after that you have to end it.
